In the never-ending effort to keep you all updated on our post-Winner musical endevors, i have news. yep. so it turns out we go to church on sundays. imagine that. as it was, we found some things lacking in the churches we used to go to. maybe you can relate to this. anyway... we have been involved in making a boat load of music that for the church we go to, most of which is based on older hymns for which we wrote new music. since i run a smaller studio, a CD was of course recorded. check it out here:

Also, Jeff and I have been working a lot with Tim Bennett (Full Surrender) in our other band,
The RingOut. We have one EP that's been out for a while now, and we are currently recording a full length.

Grey Sky Films cut another version of the Broken Line video and is hosting it on there site

The RingOut's new album and get to one of our
shows!-peace

The RingOut
This is the next project Jeff Ulrich and I have been working hard on since January. A 5 song EP will be released on JerkRecords in a month or so, and we have a couple songs up on
The RingOut Myspace page that you can preview. Thanks for bearing with us while we took so long to get this together! I will keep you all posted about the release date for the EP and where you all can buy it. Which you must.

News!
First off, beware when ordering shirts! They are almost gone and in EXTREMELY LIMITED QUANTITIES! Please email sales@jerkrecords.com before ordering and check for availability. On the other hand... we gots plenty of CD's left - although you can't wear those.
Loosely Million Time Winner related news next...
Last year we were telling people that we would most likely have some sort of new band together by the fall. Right. Well.... let's just say that didn't quite happen. However at this point, it is becoming a reality. Jeff Ulrich and I have been working with Tim Bennett (of Full Surrender) on some of Jeff's songs, and we have decided to form a band. That's right. As of now, we are still in the early formative stages (no name, no bass player (yet), few tunes, no planned shows), but we have been recording and what is going down is something we're really excited about. Really excited.
What will it sound like? Well... initially these are Jeff's songs with my production stink on 'em, so think Million Time Winner-esque (along the lines of White Flag Without a Fight) but add Full Surrender-ish guitar parts with The Only Normal attitude thrown in for good measure. We are really stoked to let you all hear this stuff so we hope to do a short (maybe 3 or 4 tune) CD single this summer and release it on JerkRecords. Something to tide you over till we can get the time to do a full length. If at some point we get a web page together, i'll post a link to it here.
Alright then - stay tuned... good stuff a'comin'! i promise!

Oooo man it's been a while, but we actually have some news to report.
We are participating in a Vigilantes of Love tribute CD being put together by fans of the band. Last night I finished the arrangement and drum tracks for our entry: "Undertow". It's a real cool song with some mean guitar playing which both I and Christian are too lazy to learn, so Andrew Light from The Big Mechanical Bull will be joining us on the recording, playing the tasty leads. When we're done, I will put it up on our site for a free download, and the CD (eith like 17 to 20 tracks) should be available next year some time.
Speaking of Vigilantes of Love, we may be playing another show opening for Bill Mallonee in our area in Febuary 2005 (and you thought we broke up). I'll keep you posted.
that's it for now....
later!

Another web page update to note.... as matt said, the new journal from Inside Out Soul Fest 2004 is up, so grab a beverage, take a sit and read. Also, i put up new photos from some older shows in the A/V section. There are some new links to check out (GodSpeed skateboards is back finally - nice web page by Nature Dave), and the message board is finally up again. I know how much you've missed it.
8.20.2004
The journal from the 2004 New Hampshire trip is up in the "journal" section. Check it out.
8.02.2004
We're Back. Back from the final Million Time Winner fling. What a great time... where did all those people come from? Anyway, we'll post a rundown of the trip under the "journal" section of the website and add a whole slew of pics in a few days, so if you're new here, keep checking back throughout the week until i get my act together.
7.23.2004
Lots of news to report as i haven't updated in a while, so i'll get to it and see if i can remember everything!
The last 2 shows of the Summer will be Thursday July 29th and Saturday July 31st (Christian's Birthday!) at The Soul Revolution Stage at
Soul Fest 2004 in New Hampshire.
In Radio Land, The Winner has been in rotation at
Slient Planet Radio,
Sonia's Indie Rock Show,
WMCX 88.9 FM, and
WBJB 90.5 FM. There are others... but i'm lazy.
Also, Paint Me Fine And Free and Writing The Broken Line are both available in downloadable form at
Apple's iTunes Store. You can buy any song for a dollar. What a time to be alive.
Compilation CD appearences:
- "The Broken Line" is on a compilation bundled with the latest issue of
Stars and Scars Zine.
- A song from Writing The Broken Line will be appearing on a compilation CD from
http://www.acnerecords.com/. When will it be released? Don't know. Where can you find it? Don't know. Who else is on it? don't know. Stop asking questions.
- "White Flag Without a Fight" is on the
Soul Fest 2004 compilation (disc 1).
- "Seven Miles of Hard Road" is on a compilation by the now defunct Kickstart Audio. I have no clue where to get that one either.
Other Sightings... Looks like Dave's fantastic layout for the last release landed us in
Discmaker's Product Catalog again.
Post-Winner projects... Other than the Winner, we've been keeping busy for the most part. Christian is working beyond full time at
the ORB, Matt got engaged and is playing a lot of Tiger Woods on GameCube, Jeff is working mad-early hours at Small World Coffee in Princeton (where Night of 1000 Saxophones used to play), and I've been working a lot in
JerkRecord's Studio recording (and playing drums and bass on) a project with a friend Matt Cook AWESOME AWESOME STUFF, and i've been playing and recording with my other band;
The Big Mechanical Bull. Later this fall, Jeff, Matt and I will be putting a new band together. We may call it Billion Time Winner.

Howdy partners!
quick news from Winner Land. We are doing one of our last shows in NJ this saturday (the 29th) at The Internet Cafe in Red Bank. Be there. For details, see
icafenj.com . Also, at the end of June, on the 25th, we'll be in Red Bank again with our friends
This Day And Age from upstate New York and
Full Surrender. More details to come.
In other happenings, one of my old bands is reforming and starting to book shows for the summer. Which one? Like you had to ask. Keep tabs at
The Big Mechanical Bull. Alright... we'll talk soon. Promise.

OK everyone.... first things first: We Are Not Broken Up Yet. Again.. we will be doing shows until August sometime, so have no fear.
In other news, we are back from a fantastic weekend tour in Ohio and the Journal Page is updated with a rundown of the trip. Pics and Vids available.
Finally, new shirts, stickers, and buttons are in. Check 'em out on the Merch page. After checking, proceed to buying. Thanks!
3.23.2004
OK everybody...
Some quick news, and then a big announcement.
We now have a re-mastered copy of "White Flag Without a Fight" - that was mastered at
The Blasting Room, where many cool bands have had recordings made. Bands like All, the Desendents, The Pavers, Element 101, Slick Shoes, MxPx, Shades Apart, etc. etc., the list goes on and on. The new version of the song should be up now... give it a listen.
We also have new stickers, shirts, and buttons on the way. One of the shirt designs is by far the coolest shirt i've seen in a long while. I'm not even kidding. Also, the DVD is available and actually selling! Imagine that. We have a couple new shows up, so check them out in the dates section up there.
Now for the tough part.
After a solid 4 years, Million Time Winner has come to the point where we have to call it quits. Rather than put all the details here, i've posted about this on
the message board so go there and read about it if you like. Feel free to drop us a note.. ask questions, yell, whatever.
Thanks to those who supported us for so long and took an interest in the music we made. It was fun while it lasted, but it's on to bigger and better things for sure.

Hello all!
This is a quick little update for all of you freaks...but this one actually has substance. You can download our brand new song
"White Flag Without a Fight" by simply clicking on the link, or by going to the A/V page. It's a demo type tune that we'll be putting on a compilation or two, so we' d like to give you all first crack at it. Let us know what you think in the
message bored. We hope all is well with you. We're ok. Jeff may have lumber lung...but besides that, we're ok.
1.13.2004
So it's 2004....
and the 'Winner is in it's 5th year. Has it been that long? I guess we've graduated Band High School. So where are we? college? working for "the Man" in the City? traveling Europe? Hanging out in the parking lot between Monmouth and White Street in Red Bank? I think we all know the answer to that.
We started the year off with a bang... our first show of 2004 can be summed up in two words: "CANCEL IT!". Yeah - we'll get to that Middletown show in a month or so, don't worry. Other than that, there are many dates lined up, including two mini tours; one in March (with
Mending Point) with dates in Ohio and New York, and one in July to
Inside Out Soul Fest (it's rumored that the infamous "Nature" Dave Rittenger from
GodSpeed Skateboards will be joining us again for that trip). We will also be out in PA a few times, and in New York City at some point.
We're also working on recording a new song at JerkRecords (or "Band Fantasy Camp" as i call it) for the
Inside Out Soul Fest Compilation, and when it's done we'll post it in MP3 form (the whole song) for your downloadable media pleasure. Check the message board for pics of the progress.
One other funny piece of news...
Writing The Broken Line is being featured (actually just the fantastic layout done by Jeff's brother Dave) in the newest DiscMakers catalog (
and on their website here).
While you're sitting around waiting for the new song to be completed, feel free to punch up these radio stations on the FM and call to request Million Time Winner songage:
WMCX 88.9 - call to request "The Broken Line" 732-571-3493
WSOU 89.5 - call to request "Smiles in Between" 973-761-9768
WBJB 90.5 The Night - call to request "Guitar, Paper, Pen" (732) 224-2905
RadioU - call to request "The Broken Line" 1-877-2-RADIOU
WQHS (Philadelphia) - call to request "The Broken Line" 215-898-3500
Great. See you at a show then... hopefully ours.

Goulet. Dig It.
The Winner is off for December (holidays and whatnot), but fear not! We are putting together much fun for next year already. Look for Winner trips to New Hampshire again, a possible tour to Ohio with friends Mending Point on Word of Mouth Records, and shows out in PA, in NYC, and all over Jersey.
Also, the Kickstart Audio compilation should be done any day now, we're on that along with fellow JerkRecords cohorts Theory of Racquetball, and friends Bombing Adam.
In video news, "The Broken Line" video will be aired on thursday Dec. 4th on TVU Live on the 10MW show (4,7, and 10pm ET). Where can you see that? Online for one (
http://www.tvulive.com) or if your cable company carries that station for some reason. Who knows? maybe it does. Feel free to pop over to their site and request us repeatedly. Over and Over again. Nice.
Alright then... don't be a stranger and say hi to us once in a while. Later!

10.11.2003
OK Then.... it is DONE. Pop on over to Grey Sky Productions for an online peek at our video for 'The Broken Line'.
Here's the link punk. Also, the show at The Knitting Factory in New York City with Evelyn Hope, Movies With Heroes, and Sleep Station was fun. We had Camp take about 200 pics, so we'll pick out the best ones and put 'em up soon. Rock.
9.19.2003
Hey everyone. There's some important stuff in here, so read up! We have some new show dates to announce which are listed below. The one at the Knitting Factory in NYC should be cool and it's free so please come out. Some other great bands are playing that show.
Dates:
10/8 -
the Knitting Factory, NYC w/ Movies with Heroes, Evelyn Hope, Sleep Station
Oct TBD - Inner Circle, Maryland
11/8 (TBD) - Rex Plex, East Rutherford, NJ (
http://www.freakattack.com)
11/29 - The Spike, PA (details later)
We shot our first ever video on Sunday, and it was a blast. I don't think I've ever been so tired in my life. Now I know why the stars get paid so much. It was a little wierd to be rocking out with nothing coming out of my amp, but I got used to it. Thanks so much to all of the video guys who helped out and thanks so much to all of the extras who were great, and survived Pete's verbal abuses.
That's about it for now...our new shirts(Summer is Fun) have FINALLY arrived and look fantastic. There aren't that many of them, so if you want one, now's the time to order. See you guys at the shows!!!
8.21.2003
Matt will soon regret giving me power to post news here. Anyway, the benefit show last saturday was happening.
Niasgras Falling and
Evelyn Hope were great. I loved the fact that Niagras Falling had a merch table that sold no "band" merch - but rather old thrift clothing. Don't laugh - they sold a lot more stuff than both of the other bands! We pulled some good scratch for
ORB and we'll hopefully be doing more shows like it later on.
In other news, we are having a video made of "The Broken Line". Yeah - i'm serious. We were approached by a production company based in North Jersey who wants to do a video for us, and we're going to be playing rockstars once again in the next couple of months while we make it. Anyone interested in being in a video? yeah - everyone is, i know. We need extras (people to stand around and pretend to be "actors") for this thing, so when we get a date for shooting, i'll announce it and you can all come along. There's no pay, no catering, and a lot of getting ordered around for 6 hours, so you should love it.
Finally, i'm working on bugging our web people to implement a real message board system for us, so bear with that crappy tag-board for a few more weeks and we'll get something better up soon. Promise.
8.14.2003
This blog thing finally works. Come to our show this Saturday. It'll be great. Evelyn Hope is a cool band and ORB needs your support. Later.
8.13.2003
The new Dashboard album came out this week. Go buy it, it's awesome. Oh wait, buy ours first from our brand spankin' new automated shop! It rules. It utilizes technology from our good friends at PayPal. The New Hampshire dates were all awesome. Thanks to everyone who came out and saw us play and came and talked to us. We appreciated it a lot. Jeff, our new extra guitarist, was great and had the girls swooning like he's paid to. There will be pictures, journals, and some vidoes(maybe) of the trip up here someday. Check back frequently and we'll see you at our next show! Take care.
